Announcing the ALUMNI NOVA IMS Blog on Medium
We have a new way for experts to contribute to the ALUMNI community — by Ivo Bernardo
NOVA Information Management School is a Data Science, Analytics and Information Management school located in Lisbon Portugal. With the goal of helping students develop the skills and knowledge needed to excel in fields related to data, NOVA Information Management School offers a wide range of graduate programs in this area — ranging from bachelor to doctoral degrees. The school’s curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in data analysis, statistics, machine learning, data visualization, and other key topics related to data and information management.
Over the past three decades, our school has proudly graduated tens of thousands of students, many of whom have successfully pursued careers within major global companies. Notably, we have nurtured a robust community of data experts among our ALUMNI, many of whom are currently employed by both startups and multi-billion dollar enterprises abroad.
On top of that, at NOVA IMS, students often share a common sentiment of community and support. This positive culture has left a unique mark on the school, fostering an environment where individuals are eager to help each other achieve their aspirations, goals and dreams. Personally, I have completed my entire academic journey at NOVA IMS and have been fortunate enough to participate in a variety of initiatives, including the student association, NOVA IMSHARE Conference, teaching, mentoring, and most recently, leading the ALUMNI association alongside an awesome team.
There are several reasons why are we building the ALUMNI community but, in short, our aim is to create a space where former students can connect, grow, and give back. We believe that these three pillars: learning, giving back, and networking will only grow in significance in the years to come, given the challenges that the world is currently facing.
Given that, the ALUMNI NOVA IMS Medium Blog will be used for mainly two purposes:
- Telling our story in how we are building our ALUMNI community — By sharing our experiences in building our community, we hope to offer insights that can be applied to other volunteer organizations seeking to grow and improve.
- To give our ALUMNI ambassadors and members a platform for sharing their expertise and insights on a variety of fascinating topics related to the world of data. Drawing on their diverse backgrounds and experiences, our ALUMNI ambassadors will offer unique perspectives and valuable insights that we believe will be of great interest to readers.
